PAVE Founder Alison Czelusniak, a 2002 Cum Laude graduate of The University of Massachusetts, with a B.A. in Communication/Broadcast Journalism and Spanish, is currently working toward her Masters in International Relations at New York University. While at UMass, Alison won the Roetter Public Speaking Award, and was one of four students chosen to serve on the committee that chose the 2002 Commencement Speaker(book Alison). She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, Vocal Suspects a cappella group, news anchor for UMass Today news show, and a dedicated volunteer. She works with many organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Berkshire Hills Music Academy, and The Literacy Project. She has also served as a volunteer for a woman's shelter, Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Center for Eating Disorders and Body Acceptance, Council on Aging, veteran's hospitals, soup kitchens, and after school tutoring programs. |

Alison is an avid traveler who has visited 15 foreign countries and studied in Madrid, Spain in 2001. In the winter of 2002, she was a guest of honor at The International Conference on Environmental Law and Sustainable Development in São Luís, Brazil where she was honored for her work as a volunteer and promoted PAVE on an international level. She is a Connecticut resident who has lived in Massachusetts, New York City, and Madrid. She has worked for CNN and Inside Edition in New York City, and she is currently a project manager for Fortex Group, a technology based public relations firm in New York. In January of 2004, Alison was crowned Miss Fairfield County 2004, and will compete for Miss Connecticut 2004 this June, an official preliminary to the Miss America Scholarship Program. |
