Helping you find the path to helping others since 1999 PAVE is an organization that was founded by Alison Helene Czelusniak. It serves as a network for volunteers across America to learn more about how they can help out in their communities. With dozens of active volunteers, PAVE also strives to spread the message that "everyone can help." Many people are willing to volunteer in their communities, but they are unaware of where to start, or how they can use their talents and skills to help out. PAVE is a national network that will help you find out about organizations that need help in your area. We will help you decide on how you can best serve your community by helping you find an organization that serves your needs and availability. In every heart there is the power to do it." - Marianne Williamson PAVE also works to incorporate community service into the school curriculum across the United States. Through service learning, students are able to apply what they're learning in the classroom to larger social issues by serving their communities. They are able to use their textbooks to gain knowledge, but they assist others and discover themselves as they share their hearts and hands with the community. "Promoting community service in the school curriculum helps build character in today's youth. It teaches students that there is a world of need out there, helps them discover who they are, and allows them to help make their world a better place to live. Gandhi once said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." Volunteering at an early age fosters the development of empathy, personal values, awareness, self-esteem, and social responsibility. Hopefully, if we instill these values in our youth early on, that spirit of service will stay with them for a lifetime."- Alison Czelusniak, Miss Fairfield County 2004
"Though government has an important role to play in meeting the many challenges that remain before us, we are coming to understand that no organization, including government, will fully succeed without the active participation of each of us. Volunteers are vital to enabling this country to live up to the true promise of its heritage." - President Bill Clinton |
